Position Summary:

The Registered Dietitian plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Nutrition by managing key day-to-day responsibilities and contributing to the strategic growth of our nutrition programs. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering engaging trainings, and helping to shape the future of nutrition in aging and dementia care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu: Support quarterly menu planning, recipe research & development team, and relationship with menu software partner
• Clinical Nutrition: Support Consultant Dietitian partner relationship, support & oversight of malnutrition and dysphagia screening protocols, wellness team education & training
• Nutrition Education: Support & create resident nutrition newsletters, culinary nutrition showcases and quarterly menu tastings
• Nutrition Philosophy & Program Education: Support onboarding of new chefs and communities by introducing them to our nutrition philosophy, programs, and key initiatives. Deliver engaging, informative training to functions as needed.
• Collaboration with the Director of Nutrition on strategic initiatives and innovative program development
• Support the growth of aging and dementia nutrition services
• Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure holistic resident care

• Support team environment performance and productivity with positivity and enthusiasm
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
• Knowledgeable of resident rights, and ensures an atmosphere which allows for privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.

Required Experience for Dietitian/Nutritionist:

• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RDN) in Good Standing.
• Experience with older adults preferred.
• Strong ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and when speaking
• Able to develop and implement nutritional materials specific to our Brand and Philosophy.
• Create and present Multimedia presentations to residents and staff.
• Ability to use multiple data sources and interpret information to make recommendations for program success.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience providing nutrition education to diverse audiences
• Menu writing and recipe development experience, ideally in senior living or healthcare settings
• Understanding of the nutritional needs and challenges associated with aging
• Familiarity with DiningRD or similar nutrition software
• Experience with malnutrition and dysphagia screening protocols
• Passion for innovation in aging and dementia care

General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
