Position Summary:

Responsible for managing the claims and administrative processes related to claims for all communities and business units insured under either CSIG master insurance policies or the policies established by community ownership entities.

Main Accountabilities

  • Manage the claims intake process for new claims including gathering information about the accident or incident and reporting to the appropriate carrier. Coverages include property, general/professional liability, crime, cyber, auto, EPLI.
  • Determine whether claims are eligible for coverage under the terms of each policy.
  • Manage subrogation efforts for claims that are caused by 3rd party insureds.
  • Coordinate collection of evidence and data from on-site personnel. Act as liaison between attorneys, insurance companies and internal staff to settle claims.
  • Coordinate with claims adjuster on review of estimates, documentation and payments.
  • Communicate with claimants on the status of the claim, payments and other pertinent information.
  • Maintain SOV, vehicle, staff information, acuity and occupancy information for completion of new insurance policy applications and renewals.
  • Manage certificate of insurance information and distribution of COIs after renewal and upon special request throughout the year.
  • Review and process insurance premium billings. Coordinate with payables and follow up with carriers as requested.
  • Due diligence and data collection for acquisitions and new business setups to add to the appropriate insurance program.
  • Manage incoming legal correspondence and coordinate with in-house counsel and assigned counsel.
  • Manage insurance litigation and claims tracker software. Complete required quarterly/monthly reporting to various ownership groups and internal business leaders.
  • Update and monitor compliance with insurance procedures and manage safety/risk initiatives
  • Assist with the development of strategies to investigate, document and settle claims
  • Attend quarterly claims reviews.
  • Coordinate, document and follow up on carrier requested risk control surveys and inspections.
  • Develop and execute claims and litigation education programs and training for business partners.
